Moose
(European moose; Alces alces)
The moose is the largest land living animal in Sweden. You can find these magnificent animal everywhere except from Gotland.
Under the last 20 -30 years the population of the moose have increased up to about 300 000 animals up until today.
The reason for this increase is mostly due to the Swedish forestry industry and all the deforestation going on.
The moose horn “antler” is biggest in the age of 7-10 year, after that the size is decreasing. There is two types of horn. The Palmated antlers and the Cervine antler

even-toed hoofed animals (Artiodactyla) Family (Cervidae)
Weigh: between 320-450 kg for male (bull) In extreme cases up to 800 kilo . The moose cow between 275-375 kilo.
Age: Up to 25 years old

From September to October.
Pregnancy:
Is 8 month
Calves:
The moose cow give birth to 1-2 calves. They are born in may-june and the weight is about 8-15 kilo at birth. The calves suckle the cow up to 7-8 month.
