 Big four

Big four - You can find the big four in north Sweden and Lapland. It is in the air, you can feel the tension and almost hear the silece. You are in the middle of the wilderness and in the homeland of bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine.

The shadows of a bear in the woodland, the howling by wolves, the silent cat lurking in the forest or the solitary wolverine. All these animals can make anybody  uneasy and frightened. But yet they fascinate and attract us.

 The Nature in Sylarna

The Nature in Sylarna, Jämtland - We, the Mountain Leaders, started off by Vålådalens mountain station in Jämtland in the end of June –05.

Little more then a week later we ended the tour in Storulvåns mountain station.

County facts and wildlife - The location of the county provides a clue about the severe climate. Winters can be harsh with a great deal of snow and sub-zero temperatures. Swedens largest predator, the bear, can be seen in both the forests and mountains. They can be 2 metres tall and weigh 350 kg.
